New renderings of SunTrust Park

The Braves have released more realistic pictures of what to expect when the stadium opens in 2017.

The Braves put new renderings of what will be SunTrust Park online today, and they're pretty spectacular. The website itself opens with a message of "More than a ballpark. A community." There's a whole section on actual information about the project, a lot of which I think is new, with statements like this:

Our new location will give us the opportunity to develop the surrounding area of SunTrust Park, transforming it into a mixed use, 365-day destination and creating an enhanced atmosphere for our fans during Braves games. There also will be significantly increased access to the site, enhanced parking opportunities, and, generally, easier access to and from major roadways with a variety of other transportation options. As an admitted detractor of the new stadium, things seem to be going smoothly up there and are progressing interestingly. I'm not 100 percent sold on the move yet, but it certainly looks better than originally imagined. I should note how the logo is sure to include Atlanta as well as Braves on every picture. Hmm.

Be sure to click through the gallery to read the captions of how the Braves describe each drawing, and you can read more at the official SunTrust Park website.
