Baseball lifer Jim Fregosi dies - USA Today
Fregosi passed away early Friday due to a stroke. He made his major-league debut at 19 and spent 18 years as a player, earning six All-Star selections as a member of the Angels. Two days after his playing career ended, he embarked on his managerial career, winning 1,028 games with four different teams before spending the last 13 years as a special assistant in the Braves front office.
Dodgers close to deal with Cuban shortstop - LA Times
23-year-old Erisbel Arruebarruena is known more for his defense than his offense. At the least, he serves as organizational depth with the team's top shortstop prospect Corey Seager moving to third base, and will probably start the season in the minors.
