After a cold an snowy winter baseball, better known as "America's National Pastime", is officially back. There will be no more live BP for Atlanta Braves hitters off their own teammates as they will bring Grapefruit League to a start against the Detroit Tigers today at 1:05 p.m. at Champion Field. Starting on the hill for the Bravos will be Freddy Garcia who will go up against Drew Smyly. The game will not be televised but you can listen to it on radio at 1230 and 1340 AM in Atlanta. Braves Sign 19 Players To One-Year Deals
While the financial terms were not disclosed the notable players to sign a one-year contract are Evan Gattis, Christian Bethancourt, Luis Avila, David Carpenter, Tyler Pastornicky, and Joey Terdoslavich. As expected, Gattis will get the start behind the dish. The 27-year-old will look to continue his feel good story and fill in the shoes of departed seven-time All Star Brian McCann.

Players Still At Odds About New Collision Rule
While at first many thought home plate collisions would be banned completely that has turned out to not be the case, instead the rule (7.13) states that the runner attempting to score can't deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher.
