Open Thread 4/20: Braves at Mets

The Braves go for a series sweep of the Mets at Citi Field this afternoon

Rob Carr

With a win yesterday, the Braves have now won all but one series this season. They lost a series against the Mets but now that they took at least two of three, they are .500 or better against everyone they said. So, they could be above .500 against every team they have played this season if they are able to finish off the sweep.

Fredi Gonzalez said earlier that Craig Kimbrel is available today. Kimbrel had no issues with his shoulder after his outing yesterday or this morning. Jordan Schafer is also available. He injured his middle finger yesterday but was unwilling to say why. It turns out that he injured it high fiving Justin Upton after his home run last night. Schafer got x-rays after the game that came back negative.

Braves starters currently have a seven game streak of allowing one run or less. Let's see if David Hale can continue this streak as he opposes Zach Wheeler, who is making his 21st major league start and fifth against the Braves.
