The time has come for the 2 teams who figure to be the top of the NL East's crop to meet up for what should be 4 games of heated, tense, contentious baseball against the 1st place Washington Nationals and the 2nd place Atlanta Braves.
The Nationals will be sending out significant amounts of pitching firepower to the mound for this set, and their weapon of choice for Game 1 will be Jordan Zimmermann, who has pitched very well so far in the month of June. Atlanta will be countering with Gavin Floyd, whose bad luck to kick off the season has just turned into overall bad since then. Maybe things will turn around tonight?
Lineup-wise, Fredi Gonzalez has stayed true to his word and given Tommy La Stella another day atop the lineup. Jason Heyward will be batting 5th. Justin Upton is still dealing with wooziness, which means that Ryan Doumit will be starting in LF tonight.
