The time has come for the Braves' annual trip to the Mile High environment of Denver, as the Braves will be spending the next 4 days facing off against the Colorado Rockies in the rarefied air of Coors Field. They'll be doing so as the Rockies are reeling from injury, while the Braves have fallen back into a 3-way tie for 1st place atop of the NL East with the Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins. If the Braves are gonna start making some hay to put in the barn for a potential pennant race, now would be a nice time to start.
With all of the talk of Rockies injuries, there is one guy who is currently very healthy, and that guy is Troy Tulowitzki. As noted in the series preview, Tulo is playing out of his mind at home, and he'll be the guy that the Braves' pitching staff will have to shut down in order to have a chance at victory during this series.
The man who will be tasked with stopping Tulo & Co. tonight will be Gavin Floyd, who hasn't exactly had the best start to his tenure as a Brave. Meanwhile, the opposing pitcher will be making his start to his tenure as an MLB player in general, as Christian Bergman will be making his first career start. He's been pretty good for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (the Rockies AAA affiliate), and with the ailments that have hit the Rockies' rotation, it's clear that his services were needed. Needless to say, we won't have any of the usual data from Brooks Baseball that you'd usually see below the lineups.
Speaking of lineups, here's tonight's lineups for both teams.
