Shelby Miller's winless streak won't haunt him over the offseason. Miller's teammates finally came through for him on Sunday staking him to an early lead and then cruising to a 6-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Braves wasted no time staking Miller to an early lead with a pair of runs in the first inning. Michael Bourn led off the game with a double off the right field wall and later scored on an RBI single by Nick Markakis. He later scored on a single by Cameron Maybin to put Atlanta in front 2-0.

The score would remain 2-0 until the fourth when Adonis Garcia pulled an inside pitch from Lackey into the left field bleachers for his ninth home run of the season to make the score 3-0. Garcia struck again in the sixth with another long home run to left field off of Tyler Long to increase Atlanta's lead to 4-0. The Braves tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the seventh thanks to a two-run home run off the bat of Andrelton Simmons.

Despite Atlanta's outburst offensively, Miller was the story ending his season with a sharp performance allowing just three hits over eight shutout innings. He struck out seven while pitching around three walks. Miller picks up his sixth win of the season and his first since May 17.
