Braves interested in trading for Jackie Bradley Jr.
Our friends over at Over The Monster picked up on a Peter Gammons report that suggested the Atlanta Braves had shown interest in trading for Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley.
When the Red Sox know the health and the predictable production of all their outfielders this spring, they may well make a trade or two; the Braves have called and made it clear they have strong interest in Jackie Bradley, but that is a post St. Patrick's Day discussion.
Before you get to excited (or disappointed), the AJC's David O'Brien thinks that the Braves call about Bradley happened early and before Atlanta made any big off season moves.
Think that interest was early in winter, before #Braves made other moves RT @uscfancb: @DOBrienAJC braves interested in Bradley jr from bos?

Spring camp full of intrigue for new-look Braves
Mark Bowman runs down the roster in its current state and highlights several position battles that could emerge during spring training. Often many teams go to spring training with a set roster and are just looking to get in shape and avoid injury before opening day. That won't be the case for the Atlanta Braves after a significant offseason roster turnover. The opportunity is there for an under radar veteran or prospect to win a roster spot with a strong effort in the preseason.

Kenley Jansen out 8-12 weeks after foot surgery
Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen will miss the start of the regular season after undergoing surgery on Tuesday to remove a growth from a bone in his left foot.
Jansen reported discomfort while running last week, and subsequent X-rays, an MRI and CT scan revealed the bone growth in the fifth metatarsal in his foot. The surgery was performed by Earl Brien and David Thordarson on Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, under the direction of team physician Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
