Gwinnett Braves (8-12): 5 vs. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (10-11): 8
- José Peraza, 2B: 1-5, K, E (5), .269
- Pedro Ciriaco, 3B: 2-5, R, 2 K, SB (1), .243
- Todd Cunningham, CF: 2-4, R, 2 SB (5), 2 OF assists, .306

- Matt Wisler (L, 0-3), SP: 4.1 IP, 9 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 88p:53s, 3:3 GO:FO, 6.75 ERA
- Mitchell Boggs, RP: IP, K, 3.00 ERA
Matt Wisler was roughed up in an 8-5 Braves defeat yesterday evening. Wisler has hit a rough patch as of late, and this continued after giving up seven runs in only 4.1 innings yesterday. This probably isn't the start that the former Padres prospect had in mind when he came to Atlanta, but it's far too early to worry. Mitchell Boggs pitched a scoreless inning in relief. Todd Cunningham had a monster game, singling twice in four tries, stealing two bases, and providing two outfield assists. I'm sure he's as confused as you and I are as to why he's in Gwinnett and Phil Gosselin is in Atlanta. Sean Kazmar and Pedro Ciriaco also had multi-hit nights. José Peraza singled once in five trips to the plate, and also committed his fifth error of the year. Chien-Ming Wang takes the ball for Gwinnett tonight against the Toledo Mud Hens.

The M-Braves were swept in a doubleheader in Mobile yesterday. Jake Brigham was technically the starter in Game 1, which was suspended because of rain on Tuesday, but Greg Ross pitched the majority of the game, allowing two runs in four innings of work. Matt Lipka notched a pair of singles, and Seth Loman reached three times on a walk and two singles. Rio Ruiz was held hitless.
In the second game, Victor Mateo started and struggled, allowing two runs in 3.2 innings. Jorge Reyes pitched 1.1 scoreless frames, but Francisco Rondon and Ryan Kelly allowed a run each to give Mobile the lead. Chris O'Dowd had a big game offensively, doubling and singling in three tries, and driving in a pair of runs. Matt Lipka reached twice in four PAs in the leadoff spot, and Rio Ruiz singled and scored a run. The M-Braves will return to Pearl tonight with Jason Hursh on the mound to face the Montgomery Biscuits.
Carolina Mudcats (8-10): 8 vs. Lynchburg Hillcats (9-11): 2

- Carlos Franco, 3B: 3-4, 2 R, 2 2B (4), BB, .264

- David Peterson, RP: 2 IP, H, 2 K, 0.00 ERA
The Mudcats thumped the Hillcats in Lynchburg yesterday. Andrew Thurman made the start and pitched five scoreless errors, allowing four singles and three walks, but no runs. He struck out seven hitters, which is certainly good to see. The Mudcats were on fire offensively last night, with Dustin Peterson leading the way. He smacked his third home run of the season, and also contributed two singles and a double. Carlos Franco and Joey Meneses also had three-hit games. Connor Lien did well also, doubling, singling, and driving in a pair of runs. The only two Mudcats to be held hitless were Levi Hyams and Johan Camargo. Steve Janas will take the mound for Carolina in tonight's series finale.
Rome Braves (7-12): 2 at Lexington Legends (7-13): 7
- Ozhaino Albies, SS: 1-5, 3B (2), .278
- Keith Curcio, CF: 1-4, R, SB (1), .338
- Jordan Edgerton, 3B: 2-4, R, RBI (13), .295
- Braxton Davidson, RF: 1-4, K, .216
- Ricardo Sánchez (L, 0-3), SP: 3 IP, 7 H, 6 R (4 ER), BB, 2 K, 6:2 GO:FO, 8.79 ERA
- Carlos Salazar, RP: 3 IP, H, ER, 2 BB, K, 2.70 ERA
Ricardo Sánchez continued to struggle in a 7-2 Braves loss to the Legends yesterday. Sánchez had a fairly disastrous outing that was compounded by sloppy fielding, allowing six runs (four were earned) in only three innings of work. He surrendered seven hits, including a home run, and only struck out two hitters. The Braves were aggressive in placing Sánchez, the youngest player in full-season baseball, in the Sally League, and it looks as if he may not quite be ready for this placement. Carlos Salazar gave up a run in three innings of relief work, and converted outfielder Felix Marte walked a hitter but allowed no runs in the final two innings. Jordan Edgerton had the only multi-hit game for the Braves, knocking in a run on a pair of singles. Braxton Davidson continued his slow start to the year, singling once in four tries. Ozhaino Albies reached once as the leadoff man with a third inning triple. Rome will wrap up its series in Lexington tonight with Alec Grosser on the mound.
