The Atlanta Braves emerged with a 5-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday evening, but unfortunately, the win was marred by the early exit of star first baseman Freddie Freeman. Freeman was removed from action prior to the seventh inning for unclear reasons, but following the game, it was announced that he sustained a right wrist sprain that forced him to the bench.
Freddie Freeman left Wednesday's game with a right wrist sprain, and is day-to-day.

Prior to leaving the contest, Freeman was 0-for-3 with a strikeout, and he is now just 3 of his last 16 at the plate. For the season, however, the 25-year-old has been up to his old tricks, putting together a .299/.367/.520 slash line with 12 home runs in 283 plate appearances.
While he is listed as day-to-day by the time, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Braves treat Freeman's ailment very carefully. Fredi Gonzalez chose to sit Andrelton Simmons for the second straight game on Wednesday night for "precautionary" reasons, and given the sizable investment in Freeman's future, the team has every incentive to ensure he is 100% healthy moving forward.
Stay tuned.
