Freddie Freeman won't be coming off of the Disabled List on Friday

The Braves' best hitter was expected to come off of the Disabled List as soon as possible. Now, it appears that this won't be the case.

When Freddie Freeman was placed on the Disabled List with an injured right wrist, there was a bit of positivity surrounding the diagnosis because it was assumed that Freeman would be coming off of the Disabled List as soon as possible. Now, it appears that this won't be the case, as WSB-TV's Zach Klein is reporting that Freddie Freeman won't be coming off of the Disabled List on Friday.

According to AJC Braves beat writer Dave O'Brien, there's no timetable on Freeman's return, and the Braves have chosen to try a different type of therapy for Freeman's wrist. If I had to guess, this will probably keep Freeman out until after the All-Star break, and that'd probably be the wise thing to do. It'll give him more time to rest and hopefully to heal up. Wrist injuries are tricky, and it appears that our resident hugger and lead offensive producer won't be able to avoid the trickiness of wrist injuries.

So for now, it appears that the Braves will have to keep on finding a way to make do without Freeman, even though they're sorely missing him.
