FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: July 17

Baseball is back!

Baseball is back!

The All-Star break is always entirely too long in baseball, and a void has been left in our collective hearts. However, there is real, live action on Friday, and that is enough to excite even the casual observer.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. On this Friday, we will break out a fantastic lineup for the evening slate, and hopefully, things will go well.

Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel is hosting a $100,000 one-day fantasy baseball league today. It's $3 to join and first place wins $8,000. Enter now!

As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.

Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.

P - Julio Teheran ($8,200)

C - Evan Gattis ($3,300)

1B - Paul Goldschmidt ($5,100)

2B - Jose Altuve ($4,300)

3B - Matt Carpenter ($3,200)

SS - Carlos Correa ($3,600)

OF - Hunter Pence ($2,900)

OF - David Murphy ($2,200)

OF - Jake Marisnick ($2,200)

I'm going heavy with the Astros. Four members of the Houston lineup are featured against Rangers lefty Martin Perez, and non-coincidentally, they are all right-handed. Altuve is one of the best players in the league, making him a no-brainer, and I love guys like Gattis and Marisnick in a platoon setting. Throw in the amazing start from Correa and everything falls into place.

Elsewhere, I'll take Julio Teheran at home because, well, he's been really good at home, and he has a cheap price point. To fill out the roster, I'm taking platoon-driven fliers on Pence and Murphy in good match-ups, and studs like Goldschmidt and Carpenter (against RHP) are nice and safe.

The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
