July 4th weekend is always a fun time, and we're almost there. In fact, some have already set sail for the nearest body of water as Thursday evening approaches, and if you haven't, there is still time to kick back and relax with some quality baseball action.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Thursday's schedule is jam-packed with action, and even with a bevy of afternoon tilts out of the way, there are plenty of options for your liking.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Max Scherzer ($12,500)
C - Wilson Ramos ($2,800)
1B - Mike Napoli ($2,700)
2B - Aaron Hill ($2,200)
3B - Yunel Escobar ($2,600)
SS - Xander Bogaerts ($2,700)
OF - Mookie Betts ($3,600)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez ($3,300)
OF - Eddie Rosario ($2,600)
At the risk of committing blasphemy against Braves Country, I'm running three members of the Nationals out on Thursday. First, Max Scherzer is easily the best pitcher of the night slate, and against an Atlanta offense without Freddie Freeman, picking anyone outside of the dominant right-hander is risky. Beyond Scherzer, I'll take Ramos and Escobar as right-handers in what could be a favorable match-up against Manny Banuelos.
Outside of Washington, my biggest stack is Boston right-handers. Betts, Bogaerts and Napoli have the benefit of facing Matt Boyd in the Rogers Centre and... that sounds good to me. Fill the lineup out with some intriguing platoon guys (I love Aaron Hill against lefties) and call it a day.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
