While the Atlanta Braves may be scuffling, there is plenty going on in the world of baseball. Monday kicks off a fresh, new schedule of games, and with that, there is an opportunity to take advantage of the DFS slate.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. On this Monday, we will break out a splendid lineup for the evening slate, and hopefully, things will go well as they did with a cash ($$$$$$) on Friday.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Gio Gonzalez ($9,400)
C - Tucker Barnhart ($2,300)
1B - Anthony Rizzo ($3,900)
2B - Robinson Cano ($3,300)
3B - Adrian Beltre ($3,900)
SS - Brad Miller ($2,300)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez ($4,500)
OF - Christian Yelich ($3,000)
OF - Chris Coghlan ($2,400)
I don't love today's pitching slate, but you can't go wrong fading the Mets from a lineup perspective, and Gio Gonzalez has been good in recent days. Elsewhere, I went platoon-heavy (shocker!) across the board, with the high-end guys coming with Carlos Gonzalez at Coors against a right-hander and Anthony Rizzo teeing off against right-hander Michael Lorenzen.
Filling out the lineup, I like Robinson Cano (in the midst of a bounce-back) against a favorable righty, and Adrian Beltre against Chris Rusin at Coors Field isn't even fair. Even the fringe guys (Miller, Coghland, Barnhart) have good match-ups, and this lineup looks like a winner if Gio can pull his weight.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
