With the loss of Alex Wood in the trade with the Dodgers yesterday, the Braves had an obvious hole in their rotation. As expected, a familiar face will be replacing him in the rotation for the forseeable future.
#Braves activate Perez from DL to replace Wood in rotation; Marksberry A-ball to big leagues in couple of months http://t.co/DU8VxDXRHA

Before having his leg/foot injured on a line drive, Williams Perez had been providing a surprising lift to the Braves in his time in Atlanta. He currently holds a 4-0 record (and a save as well) with a 2.88 ERA and was expected to return sooner, but as rotation spots freed up the dates never seemed to line up with when his rehab starts took place. However, the trade yesterday forced the Braves' hand and luckily Williams was ready to go after a string of very successful rehab appearances. He will start Friday against the Phillies.
Relievers Ryan Kelly and Matt Marksberry were already alled up to fill spots in the bullpen vacated by Luis Avilan and Jim Johnson.
