The Atlanta Braves are still shopping third baseman Chris Johnson in advance of the July 31 trade deadline. FoxSports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Braves have also tried attaching a player to Johnson to make a deal more enticing for other teams.

#Braves used same model when they required #Padres to take Upton Jr. to get Kimbrel. #SFGiants among teams with no interest in Johnson.

According to Rosenthal, the San Francisco Giants were among the teams that the Braves discussed a possible Johnson trade with during the offseason although they are no longer interested. No mention of what specific players Atlanta might be trying to attach to Johnson to get a deal done.
Johnson is under contract through the 2018 season although the deal includes a $1 million buyout in the final year. He has appeared in 40 games with Atlanta this season and is hitting .227 with one home run and seven RBIs.
