Let's get super weird.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. On this phenomenal Tuesday, however, FanDuel is offering an "early only" slate that begins at 1:20 pm ET, and with the opportunity to dig deep in a schedule that provides only two games, getting weird is an understatement.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 1:20 pm ET "early only" contest.
P - Matt Moore ($6,700)
C - Rene Rivera ($2,300)
1B - James Loney ($2,400)
2B - Kolten Wong ($2,900)
3B - Kris Bryant ($3,500)
SS - Asdrubal Cabrera ($2,700)
OF - Jason Heyward ($3,400)
OF - Kevin Kiermaier ($2,600)
OF - Jorge Soler ($2,500)
To be clear, money basically doesn't matter in this early slate. In fact, this lineup leaves more than $5,000 (!) on the table, which I would never normally recommend, but in this instance, it's virtually impossible to spend it all.
My favorite match-up of the afternoon is the Rays against Royals right-hander Chris Young. To exploit that, I'm going with Loney, Cabrera and Kiermaier, all of whom have the platoon advantage. Beyond that, my "big ticket" buys come from the other game, with Heyward and Bryant each facing pitchers that they can take advantage of with potential power. Throw in Soler, Wong and a throwaway catcher (I'm sorry), and this is what you end up with for Tuesday.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
