Shelby Miller's on the mound for the Braves today, and that means we all get to have another serious conversation about the merit of pitcher wins*, as his consecutive winless streak sits at 15.
We mentioned his performance throughout this streak in our series preview, but if you need a bit of a refresher, well I guess that's what I'm here for.
Miller hasn't won since May 17. Since then, he's started 15 games and won none of them despite posting a 3.16 ERA. A 3.16 ERA is good. In 10 of those starts, Miller allowed two earned runs or less. That is also good. During this stretch, the Braves are 2-13, which speaks much more to the team as a whole with Shelby on the mound, than Shelby's actual performance on the mound.
