FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: August 20

Before the weekend arrives, make some extra cash with FanDuel on Thursday.

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves are in Chicago to take on the Cubs at Wrigley Field this weekend, but before the actual weekend arrives, it is time for an "investment" opportunity. Yes, DFS is an investment, and we will be your broker for the day.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Today, we will break out a winning (we hope) group for the evening slate, and hopefully, things will go well.

Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel is hosting a $100,000 one-day fantasy baseball league today. It's $3 to join and first place wins $8,000. Enter now!

As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.

Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.

P - Jake Arrieta ($10,600)

C - Miguel Montero ($2,200)

1B - Anthony Rizzo ($4,400)

2B - Rougned Odor ($3,500)

3B - Nick Castellanos ($2,800)

SS - Addison Russell ($2,300)

OF - Michael Taylor ($2,700)

OF - Dexter Fowler ($3,100)

OF - Shin-soo Choo ($3,300)

I'm sorry, Braves Country.

The Cubs have Jake Arrieta on the mound in the series opener, and he is very, very good. Combine that with the fact that the Braves have been putrid at the plate, and the value is there. Offensively, I also like Chicago on this night against Mike Foltynewicz, with Rizzo, Fowler and Montero in favorable platoon match-ups. Russell is there for the low cost, but he's capable as well, and taking the emotion of fandom out of DFS is always a safe bet.

Elsewhere, I like the left-handed Rangers quite a bit against Tigers right-hander Alfredo Simon. With Odor and Choo out of the way, we're left with two spots, and both Castellanos (against Martin Perez) and Michael Taylor (at Coors Field against a left-hander) are cost-effective options.

The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
