The Braves hope to provide Shelby Miller with some actual run support as they travel to Wrigley Field to take on the Cubs. Miller will be opposing Kyle Hendricks, who is coming off a rough start against the across town White Sox.
Shelby has yet to record a "win" in over 3 months, primarily due to historically bad run support (1.38 during his winless streak). He is more than familiar with his foe in this game, given his previous stint with the St. Louis Cardinals. Jorge Soler has given Shelby trouble in the past as he is hitting .429 with 2 homers against Shelby.
On the plus side for the Braves, Freddie Freeman is back in the lineup and hopes salvage what has been a mostly lost (due to injury) second half. The Braves offense does not have a lot of experience with Hendricks, with no batter having more than 5 career at-bats against him.
One last note, the Braves are 2-19 in their last 21 road games...so here's hoping that trend can be reversed.
On to the lineups...
