Things aren't going particularly well for the Atlanta Braves right now, and if you need an escape, the fantastic world of DFS can provide one.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Today, we will break out a winning (we hope) group for the evening slate, and hopefully, things will go well.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Masahiro Tanaka ($9,200)
C - Brian McCann ($3,400)
1B - Prince Fielder ($3,100)
2B - Anthony Rendon ($3,500)
3B - Chase Headley ($2,600)
SS - Jose Ramirez ($2,600)
OF - Nelson Cruz ($5,000)
OF - Franklin Gutierrez ($3,300)
OF - Jerry Sands ($2,300)
I'm going with "mini" stacks on this night, and there are a few to choose from. Because this is an Atlanta Braves blog, we'll begin with... the Yankees against Williams Perez.
I don't hate Williams Perez in a vacuum, but the Yanks have some quality left-handed bats, and I'm going with McCann (in his return home) and Headley. Elsewhere, I love Nelson Cruz (duh) and Franklin Gutierrez (a platoon monster) against a left-hander, and the same goes for Ramirez and Sands (on the cheap) against a lefty in Andrew Heaney.
Finally, Masahiro Tanaka is the best value of the high-end pitchers and with how the Braves are hitting, he's a no-brainer for me. I'm happy to be wrong from a real-life perspective, but if we remove emotion, he seems like the right pick.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
