FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Picks: August 5

It's Wednesday afternoon and baseball is on. Let's do this.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

It isn't every day that there is a full-blown baseball schedule on a weekday afternoon, but here we are. Wednesday brings forth a strong collection of action and, in short, baseball is fun.

SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Today, we will break out a winning (we hope) group for the afternoon slate, and hopefully, things will go well.

Editor's Note: SB Nation's partner FanDuel is hosting a $100,000 one-day fantasy baseball league today. It's $3 to join and first place wins $8,000. Enter now!

As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.

Note: This lineup would be used in a 2:10 pm ET contest.

P - Danny Salazar ($8,800)

C - Mike Zunino ($3,000)

1B - Ben Paulsen ($3,600)

2B - Jimmy Paredes ($2,400)

3B - Evan Longoria ($3,200)

SS - Jose Reyes ($3,400)

OF - Charlie Blackmon ($4,800)

OF - Austin Jackson ($3,000)

OF - Mark Canha ($2,200)

It's the "early only" slate, so the talent pool is weakened, and I'm spending big on Salazar. He is easily the best pitching option, and even with it being an "obvious" choice, it's the right one.

Beyond that, the big-ticket items are Blackmon (against a right-hander in Coors Field), Paulsen (same) and the duo of Reyes and Longoria. Neither Reyes nor Longoria is living up to their name this season, but platoons are helpful, and you can see that sentiment with the likes of Zunino and Canha as well.

The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
