The Braves had no answer for Madison Bumgarner tonight. The Giants lefty held the Braves to seven hits and a single run as he and his team leave town with a 6-1 win.
Early on, Braves starter Williams Perez had some trouble with Giants rookie Kelby Tomlinson. The rookie put the Giants on the board with a two-run single in the second inning; an error by Eury Perez allowed the second run to advance into scoring position. That would've been enough for Bumgarner, but Tomlinson struck with another RBI hit in the fourth inning for a 3-0 Giants lead.
The Giants finally ended Perez's night with a two-run double by Matt Duffy in the seventh. Hunter Pence added an RBI single off Jake Brigham two batters later.
Atlanta's lone run came in the bottom of the seventh on a one-out double by Ryan Lavarnway off Bumgarner, who struck out nine in 7.1 innings. Only Adonis Garcia and Daniel Castro were hitless among starters for the Braves.
