Thursdays, along with Mondays, are prone to shortened slates in the baseball world, but we'll fight through it. Today's schedule was lined with afternoon games, but there are five evening tilts (including one that features the Atlanta Braves) on tap, and that means we can fire on some DFS.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Today, we will break out a winning (we hope) group for the later games, and hopefully, things will go well.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Matt Wisler ($6,300)
C - Kyle Schwarber ($3,300)
1B - Anthony Rizzo ($4,100)
2B - Brian Dozier ($3,500)
3B - Miguel Sano ($2,700)
SS - Xander Bogaerts ($3,700)
OF - Hanley Ramirez ($3,500)
OF - Carlos Gomez ($3,600)
OF - Hunter Pence ($3,600)
You can call me a "homer", but I love the value of Wisler at only $6,300. There are no aces to be had on the evening slate, with Jason Hammel and Chris Heston as the pitchers with the highest price, and I'll take the big discount on Wisler in a potentially juicy match-up against Miami. That cost savings allows me to invest heavily in big names, but on the cheaper side, I love Dozier and Sano against Blue Jays left-hander Mark Buehrle.
The rest of the names, aside from Burns in a favorable match-up, speak for themselves. I've gone with balance across the board, but Schwarber and Rizzo against a RHP is enticing, and the names like Bogaerts and Ramirez in favorable platoon face-offs will be nice to utilize.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
