With Shelby Miller's scheduled start pushed up a day, the Atlanta Braves will activate left-handed rookie Manny Banuelos from the 15-day disabled list to toe the rubber in the second game of a three-game series against the Marlins. Banuelos was solid before being placed on the DL, posting a 1-2 record with a 2.49 ERA in five games (four starts).
Rosters are eligible for expansion starting today, and the Braves called up a few players. Pitchers Dan Buwara and Brandon Cunniff and infielders Daniel Castro and Hector Olivera were called up to the major league team. More players should join the fold as the month goes on. Castro starts at shortstop and Olivera will make his much anticipated debut.
The Braves face Marlins rookie Justin Nicolino, who is 2-2 with a 3.65 ERA in six starts this season.
