Though the Atlanta Braves are in action, it is a less than jam-packed slate in the world of Major League Baseball on Thursday. Only six games will be played across the league, but that won't stop us from taking full advantage of the DFS schedule.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we regularly bring you "recommended" lineups. Today, we will break out a winning (we hope) group for the evening slate, and hopefully, things will go well.
As usual, fading my picks may be your best option, so if you do that, I won't be offended in the slightest.
Note: This lineup would be used in a 7:05 pm ET contest.
P - Jordan Zimmermann ($9,300)
C - Wilson Ramos ($2,700)
1B - Ben Paulsen ($3,400)
2B - Anthony Rendon ($3,200)
3B - Matt Duffy ($3,100)
SS - Jimmy Rollins ($2,700)
OF - Carlos Gonzalez ($4,700)
OF - Ben Zobrist ($3,600)
OF - Carl Crawford ($2,300)
I'm going with a "stars and scrubs" lineup for Thursday, given that the options are quite limited.
Zimmermann isn't the highest-priced pitcher in the game, but he's the best in a match-up against the hapless Braves offense. In addition, CarGo is worth the lofty price in a platoon-friendly match-up at Coors Field.
The rest of the lineup is about cost. Paulsen, Zobrist and Duffy are guys that I really like in their respective match-ups, while guys like Rollins and Crawford are simply very cheap platoon plays against an unproven pitcher from San Diego. Regardless, it is tough to field the "perfect" lineup on a day like today, and some risk will be involved.
The slogan, as always, is to simply make money, and this lineup can (hopefully) help you get there. Let's do this together.
