Atlanta Braves newly-acquired centerfielder Ender Inciarte was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday.
Inciarte pulled up slowly after running down the base line in the first inning of Friday night's contest, and immediately removed himself from the game. The Braves listed him as day-to-day due to hamstring tightness, but the injury will obviously sideline him for a little longer.
Drew Stubbs was signed at the end of spring training and has played center since Inciarte went down, and was also in the lineup for Sunday afternoon's game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
No corresponding roster move was announced, but there is growing thought that it may be time for the christening of prospect Mallex Smith, who started the season with Triple-A Gwinnett.
