Ender Inciarte left Friday's game in the first inning due to tightness in his left hamstring. He was replaced by Drew Stubbs and is listed as day-to-day.
Inciarte told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Michael Cunningham that he initially tweaked the hamstring in Wednesday's game but wanted to play on Friday after an off day on Thursday. Inciarte missed a month last season for the Diamondbacks with a similar injury and wants to play it safe this time around.
“I feel like I was able to stop before it popped,” Inciarte said. “I depend on my legs so it’s frustrating that I’ve been having hamstring issues since last year. It’s a different leg but hopefully it’s not going to be that bad.”
Inciarte has already had in impact defensively for the Braves in the outfield and figures to be one of their key offensive players at the top of the batting order. For a team that is still searching for its first win, losing Inciarte for any amount of time hurts but hopefully it will be for just a few days.
