Its no secret amongst Braves fans that a very large part of the team’s recent success has been due to Freddie Freeman playing extraordinarily well of late. In addition to hitting for the first cycle of the season in MLB earlier this week, 5 of his last 7 games have been 3+ hit games and he has been hitting for power and average while driving in and scoring runs.
In short, he has been great...and it appears that Major League Baseball is actually paying attention to the Braves despite the difficult season thus far.
#Braves 1B Freddie Freeman was named NL Player of the Week. He hit .548/.588/1.065 with 5 2B, 1 3B, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 6 R and 1 SB in 31 AB.

The Braves have won 5 straight games and have the pitching staff and Freddie Freeman to thank for that (largely). While the video game numbers this past week are not sustainable, hopefully this production marks a turnaround for Freeman’s season where he can provide the production that many fans hoped for when he signed an eight-year extension back in 2014.
