On Thursday, June 9th, 2016, one of the most wonderful times of the year for baseball fans begins as the 2016 MLB Draft will be upon us. Luckily, the first two rounds of the draft including the compensation and competitive balance picks, will have live coverage starting at 7 PM EST both on MLBTV as well as on MLB.com. Expect the Braves to be a big part of the festivities as they will have 4 picks during that first night of the draft (5 of the first 80 overall) including the 3rd overall pick.
Draft coverage of rounds 3-10 will resume on Friday starting with live coverage only on MLB.com starting at 1 PM EST. The draft will end on Saturday with rounds 11-40 with coverage again on MLB.com starting at 12 PM EST and going until over 1200 players are drafted (1215 players were selected in the 2015 draft with Jacob McDavid being the last player selected by the Anaheim Angels. Based on the state of their farm system, he may be a top 10 prospect over there).
