Inciarte held out of lineup again, likely to play Tuesday

Braves’ outfielder Ender Inciarte is expected to return to the lineup on Tuesday after missing three straight games with a strained groin. Brian Snitker has played it safe with Inciarte and cited Atlanta’s recent travel schedule as one of the reason’s why.

Inciarte told Snitker he felt better Sunday, but the Braves wanted to rest him one more day, particularly given the hectic schedule of the past three days with the Braves playing three games in three different places: Saturday in Atlanta, Sunday at Fort Bragg, N.C., and Monday at Philadelphia.

Mets to Activate Jose Reyes on Tuesday

The New York Mets announced that they will activate Jose Reyes on Tuesday. Reyes is expected to step in at third base for the Mets.

Reyes hasn’t played in a Major League game this season in the wake of the domestic violence incident that led to a league investigation and a suspension. The Mets’ signing of Reyes drew no shortage of criticism given this recent history, though Reyes has expressed remorse about his actions and the team believes he is deserving of another chance.
