It is Thursday and, for the second straight week, the Atlanta Braves are taking a breather from live action. To get you through the afternoon, though, we have some baseball-related content that you might be interested in.
SB Nation and FanDuel continue to partner on daily fantasy baseball, and we will bring you regularly scheduled lineup recommendations throughout the 2016 season. This afternoon’s short schedule could provide value and we’re here to help.
Let's get it going.
Note: This lineup would be used in today's 1:05 pm “early only” contest.
P - Mike Clevinger ($5,500)
C - Victor Martinez ($3,100)
1B - Miguel Cabrera ($3,900)
2B - Jason Kipnis ($3,700)
3B - Jorge Polanco ($3,100)
SS - Francisco Lindor ($3,600)
OF - JD Martinez ($3,400)
OF - Justin Upton ($3,300)
OF - Lonnie Chisenhall ($3,000)
The pitching is hideous for this two-game slate, and that is how you end up with Clevinger. I wanted to fade Hector Santiago (as the highest-priced option) and I think Clevinger has the best overall match-up.
As a result of spending so little on pitching, our budget is overflowing, and I’m basically taking my top player at every other spot. Load up on the Tigers with power in Martinez, Cabrera, Martinez and Upton, and fill around that with an elite second baseman in Kipnis and a great platoon match-up with Chisenhall.
You have to be a degenerate to play this slate aggressively, but we’re here for you.
