Before we talk about tonight’s game against the Marlins, let’s look at what Ender Inciarte did to the Mets last night. This will be the 30th time I’ve watched this video, and I’m sure that most of you are right there with me when it comes to views of this video. So, let’s watch it again!
Ah, that will never get old. Never. However, we have to leave it behind for the time being since the Braves do indeed have another game tonight. They’ve left the extremely friendly confines of Citi Field and will be taking on the Marlins in Miami this evening.
Now, believe it or not, the Marlins are still in the Wild Card race. Granted, their chances of making the postseason are still incredibly slim and they’d need absolutely everything in the world to go right for them in order to even get the second spot in the Wild Card, but they’re still alive. As such, the Braves are probably going to get everything that the Marlins have to offer for the next few games. This includes a scintillating pitching matchup on Sunday between Jose Fernandez and Julio Teheran, but for now, tonight’s matchup will see Josh Collmenter take the mound for the Braves against Jose Urena.
Simply put, the Marlins need every game that they can get from this point forward. However, the Braves have made it clear that they’re relishing the role of spoiler right now. The Braves are actually 9-6 against the Marlins this year, so if trends keep up then this could be the end of the line for the Marlins and their small postseason hopes.
