Ozzie Albies, Travis Demeritte among Braves non-roster invitees for spring training

The Atlanta Braves released their non-roster invite list for spring training on Wednesday including five of the club’s top prospects. Infielders Ozzie Albies and Travis Demeritte headline line the list along with pitchers Sean Newcomb, A.J. Minter, Patrick Weigel and outfielder Dustin Peterson. The first full squad workout will be held on February 18.

MLB Pipeline continues their rundown of the top MLB prospects by position with a look at shortstop. Atlanta landed two more players on this list with Dansby Swanson coming in at No. 2 and Kevin Maitan at No. 7

Max Fried, Ian Anderson and Kevin Maitan land on Keith Law’s Top 100 prospects list

ESPN.com’s Keith Law continues to release pieces of his Top 100 prospect list and the Braves have three players fall in No’s 60-41. Kevin Maitan lands at No. 59 despite not having played a single professional game to date. Ian Anderson checks in at No. 52 while Max Fried comes in at No. 50.

SunTrust Park to host UGA vs Missouri baseball on April 8

Georgia Baseball will participate in the first college baseball game played at SunTrust Park when they square off against Missouri on April 8. All proceeds from the game will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and it will provide fans an early opportunity to experience everything SunTrust Park has to offer.

Rockies sign Greg Holland to 1-year deal

Greg Holland’s agreed to a 1-year, $7 million deal with the Colorado Rockies. His deal also reportedly includes a vesting option for the 2018 season. Holland sat out the 2016 season due to injury but is healthy now and looking to reclaim his spot as one of the best closers in baseball.
