Talking Chop Podcast Episode 49: Analyzing Top 100 prospect lists, with Scott Coleman

Do we prefer the Top 100 list of ESPN’s Keith Law or MLB Pipeline when it comes to Braves rankings?

Happy Monday, everybody!

We’re nearing the end of January — aka the worst month of the baseball calendar — but fortunately, a few big outlets released their Top 100 prospect lists last week and over the weekend, so we’ve got a lot to talk about today on the show.

If you couldn’t see from the title, Talking Chop veteran (and great clubhouse guy) Scott Coleman joins Brad and myself on the show today to pick nits about both of these lists. We talk about a few other things as well, including:

  • The Braves’ reported interest in Jeff Francoeur, who actually is still playing baseball for a living
  • The Braves’ minor league deal with Kris Medlen, who is also still playing baseball for a living
  • Sending well-wishes to Sean Rodriguez and his family after reports of a scary car accident in Miami
  • Thoughts on the Braves bullpen, specifically after MLB.com’s Mark Bowman broke down the group in an in-depth article here
  • Finally, the entree of the show, where we talk about both Top 100 lists and also throw out a few Atlanta players who have a decent shot of cracking these lists during mid-season updates.

Huge shout-out to Scott for carrying the show today!
