Walt Weiss emerges as potential bench coach, per report

Weiss previously managed the Colorado Rockies from 2013-16. He played for the Braves from 1998-2000.

The only thing that is definite about the 2018 Atlanta Braves coaching staff is that Brian Snitker will remain the manager.

Beyond that, no announcements have been made, although a name emerged on Tuesday morning as a potential option.

According to’s Mark Bowman, Walt Weiss could potentially join Atlanta’s staff next season as the team’s bench coach.

Weiss previously managed the Colorado Rockies from 2013-16, compiling a record of 283-365. He stepped down at the conclusion of the 2016 season.

Weiss concluded his 14-year career in Atlanta, playing his final three seasons (1998-2000) with the Braves. He was elected as the starting shortstop for the National League All-Star team in 1998.
