Atlanta Braves news: Is a Walt Weiss reunion imminent?

Walt Weiss wore the Braves uniform as a player for three seasons. Could he don it once again in the future as a coach?

Walt Weiss #22...

Walt Weiss could join Atlanta’s coaching staff

There have been rumors that the Braves have been planning to shake up the coaching staff since even before the season ended, and now we have a new name to talk about when it comes to potential replacements — former Braves shortstop and Rockies manager Walt Weiss. If you’re a cynic, you can now argue that the Braves could potentially have three in-house candidates (should Bo Porter and Ron Washington survive the shake-up) for the managerial job if the Braves choose to move on from Brian Snitker following the 2018 season.

John Hart will be interviewed by MLB this week

Meanwhile, in investigation news, it is true that baseball’s investigation of the Braves is coming to a close. However, it appears that MLB still has one big name left to interview before they’re done, and that’s John Hart. That bit of news has added even more intrigue to what’s already been something like a train wreck that you can’t keep your eyes off of.

Our season recap rolls on

Houston has eighth-inning bullpen collapse as New York ties series

For the second series in a row, the Yankees went down 2-0 after losing the first two games on the road. Once again, this didn’t deter New York as the series came to the Bronx. After they pounded the Astros in Game 3, the Yankees stole Game 4 6-4 after scoring two runs in the seventh inning and four runs in the eighth to steal Game 4. Just like that, the Yankees have turned this into a three-game series and are now in with a serious shot of taking out the two best teams in the AL in one postseason.

Los Angeles comprehensively defeats Chicago to get within one win of Pennant

In the Senior Circuit, things did not change for the Cubs as the series moved to Chicago. The Cubs couldn’t figure out Yu Darvish and the rest of LA’s pitching staff, and the Dodgers took advantage of a shoddy pitching performance from the Cubs to win 6-1 and take a 3-0 lead. To sum this game up, Yu Darvish drew a walk on four pitches with the bases loaded. The game may not have been over at that point, but that’s a heck of a backbreaker.
