Braves’ GM interviews reportedly on hold until after MLB investigation concludes

The Atlanta Braves appear to be in a holding pattern and awaiting the completion of MLB’s investigation into alleged wrongdoings by the team’s front office.

FanRag’s Jon Heyman reports that the investigation is in the final stages and that the results are likely to be announced after the conclusion of the World Series. Heyman also reports that the team has put interviews for its vacant general manager position on hold until after the results of the investigation.

There had been suggestions Hart was about to start interviewing new GM candidates, but that’s on hold until the investigation concludes. Hart’s own contract was up, and he has said he intended to be back – but that was before this investigation ramped up.

Heyman also indicates that just about every member of the Braves’ baseball operations department has been interviewed by the MLB including John Hart and John Schuerholz.

It makes sense that Atlanta would hold off on hiring a general manager until after it learns of what sanctions it will face as a result of the investigation. Also, Hart’s status could play a major part in that process as well.
