Royals ownership denied Braves interview with Dayton Moore, per report
ESPN.com’s Jerry Crasnick reported on Friday that the Atlanta Braves had reached out to the Kansas City Royals in hopes of interviewing Dayton Moore for their vacant General Manager position but were denied that request by David Glass.
While that is certainly a set back, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s David O’Brien writes that the door might not be completely closed just yet.
But there is a belief among some observers that the Royals might be positioning themselves for possible concessions from the Braves to allow Moore to interview and/or leave. And it’s possible that Moore might also be waiting for some assurances about the Braves situation and his potential role if he were to join them.
Braves top prospect Ronald Acuna homers twice in AFL game
Ronald Acuna turned heads in the Arizona Fall League on Friday with three hits including a pair of home runs. Acuna is now hitting .366 and has an OPS 1.123.
Mariners claim David Freitas off waivers from Braves
The Braves lost another player on Friday when reserve catcher David Freitas was claimed off of waivers by the Mariners. Atlanta has begun the process of clearing 40-man roster spots for the offseason.
