Dale Murphy’s wait continues. The Modern Baseball Era Committee announced its voting results Sunday night at the Winter Meetings in Orlando Florida. The committee elected two former Detroit Tigers in shortstop Alan Trammell and pitcher Jack Morris.
Congratulations to Alan Trammell and Jack Morris, elected to the Hall of Fame.

Trammell and Morris are the first living players to be elected by a form of the Veterans committee since Bill Mazeroski in 2001.
Murphy needed to capture 12 of 16 votes to gain induction. He, Trammell and Morris were part of a ballot that also included Steve Garvey, Tommy John, Dave Parker, Don Mattingly, Luis Tiant, Ted Simmons and former head of the Players Association Marvin Miller.
As always, Murphy handled the situation with class which should come as no surprise to Braves fans everywhere.
Again... thanks to all for your support for the HOF and the Modern Era ballot. We appreciate it so much! Congratulations to Jack Morris and Alan Trammell. Well deserved!
