Bartolo Colon will look to build off his solid debut with the Braves when he opens Tuesday’s series on the mound against the Marlins. Colon allowed six hits and one run in his debut against the New York Mets last Wednesday. He is 7-5 in his career with a 3.35 ERA in 14 career starts against Miami.

The Marlins will counter with right hander Dan Straily who spent last season with the Reds before an offseason trade brought him south. Straily struggled in his opening start against the Nationals. He was tagged for six hits and five earned runs in just 3 13 innings against Washington. Straily went 14-8 with a 3.76 ERA in 31 starts for Cincinnati last season. He allowed seven hits and six runs in just 4 13 innings in his only previous appearance against the Braves.

Jaime Garcia will take his turn for the Braves on Wednesday and will be looking for better results after a disappointing opener. Garcia pitched well early on but faltered late allowing six hits and four earned runs over six innings against the Mets. Garcia has fared well in his career against the Marlins going 2-1 with a 3.34 ERA in six starts.

Miami will turn to Tom Koehler in the series finale. Koehler allowed one run and four hits over five innings in his first start of the season against the Nationals. Koehler is 3-5 with a 3.74 ERA in 16 career appearances against the Braves but allowed seven earned runs in 10 23 innings against them last season.
