The Atlanta Braves look to snap a four-game skid on Saturday when they continue their series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Atlanta dropped Game 1 Friday night by a score of 4-3. The Braves got solo home runs from Adonis Garcia and Freddie Freeman but Tyler Flowers struck out with two on in the ninth to end the game.
Jaime Garcia will be on the mound for the Braves on Saturday. Garcia is 0-1 with a 4.67 ERA in three starts so far this season. He picked up a no-decision in his last start after allowing five hits and two runs in 6.1 innings against the Padres.
The Phillies will counter with right hander Jerad Eickhoff who is 0-1 with a 2.75 ERA in his first three starts of the season. Eickhoff has gone at least six innings in each of his starts this season while allowing three runs or less. He’s struck out 18 and walked just six 19.2 innings.
Freeman hit his seventh homer of the season in Friday’s game and is off to a red hot start slashing .397/.485/.862 over the first 16 games. He is 6-for-16 in his career against Eickhoff with a pair of solo home runs.
