After back-to-back impressive offensive outputs from the Braves in the first two games of their series against the Brewers, Atlanta will have the opportunity to pull off the sweep with a win on Sunday afternoon.

The Braves rallied from four runs down twice on Friday night and went ahead on Freddie Freeman’s ninth-inning home run to win 10-8. On Saturday, Matt Kemp’s three-homer night powered the club to an 11-3 drubbing.

Mike Foltynewicz will take the ball for Atlanta on Sunday afternoon at 2:10 p.m. ET in the series finale against veteran hurler Matt Garza.

Foltynewicz last pitched a week ago, when he threw seven great innings against the Phillies in a no-decision. He allowed just four hits and a run while striking out nine hitters.

Although he is 0-2 in four games (three starts), Foltynewicz is continuing to show improvement and is starting to realize some of his vast potential. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his first start and made his next appearance out of the bullpen, but his last two starts have been exceptional.

Against the Brewers, Foltynewicz has pitched in three games (two starts), and compiled a 1.93 ERA in 14 innings. He has only seen four current Brewers in his career. Ryan Braun is 2-for-3, Jonathan Villar is 1-for-2 with an RBI and Keon Broxton is 0-for-1 against him.

Matt Garza has not put together a winning season on the mound since 2013, but the veteran is capable of a great outing every time out. He made his season debut April 24 and allowed four runs in four innings, but only one of those runs was earned.

Garza has not had a great deal of success in his career against the Braves, posting just a 1-4 record and 4.65 ERA in seven starts.

Nick Markakis and Brandon Phillips have seen Garza the most, from his days as division foes with each players’ former team. Markakis is just 9-for-43 but has seven RBIs. Phillips is 12-for-33 with six runs driven in. Freddie Freeman has a home run in 17 at-bats against Garza, and Emilio Bonifacio has a .353 average against him.
