The Atlanta Braves have announced that recently acquired pitcher, Luiz Gohara, has been promoted to Mississippi following a tremendous first seven starts for the Florida Firefrogs.

The control issues that once plagued flame throwing lefty seem to be in control as his walk rate has dropped from what was once 5.79 BB/9, to a paltry 2.48 BB/9 this year. On the season he has a 1.98 ERA and 2.09 FIP despite a .340 BABIP, and is striking out just a hair under 10 K/9 (9.66 K/9). This move follows the promotion of Patrick Weigel to Gwinnett that occurred yesterday.
Luiz was the main piece acquired in the trade of Mallex Smith to the Seattle Mariners. He sits high 90s with his fastball, and can touch triple digits, and spots it well to every corner of the zone. He combos this with an absolutely vicious slider that might be his best pitch. He also has a rapidly improving changeup as well.
As a result of this move Andres Santiago has been promoted from Rome to Florida, and Luis Mora joins Rome from Extended Spring Training.
