Adams has appeared in 31 games with the Cardinals this season and has put up a .292/.340/.396 slash line. He spent the last six seasons with the Cardinals and has a career slash of .271/.315/.453. He will be under team control through the 2018 season. The Braves also received some cash from the Cardinals in the deal.
The Braves lost Freddie Freeman for 8-10 weeks due to a fractured wrist earlier this week. They also signed free agent James Loney who has since reported to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Yepez is a 19-year old infielder who was playing at Rome. He was slashing .275/.309/.387 to go along with one home run and 15 RBIs.
