The Braves have announced that third baseman Adonis Garcia will miss two months following surgery to repair ligament damage in his left ring finger. This announcement comes after Garcia was placed on the 10-day disabled list on June 7 with the ailment in his finger.

Garcia was batting .247/.282/.351 on the season with four homers and 16 RBI. The Braves called up rookie third baseman Rio Ruiz on May 18, and since that time he has earned the majority of playing time with Garcia first battling an Achilles injury which was followed by the recent finger injury that resulted in surgery.
