Today saw the release of Eric Longenhagen’s Top 100 prospects at midseason for FanGraphs. Longenhagen put a total of 10 Braves on his list, a new high number of Braves prospects to make a national media organization's Top 100. That also means there were some new names which we haven't seen in those Top 100 lists previously.
The order in which these prospects appear shouldn't be a surprise, as this is the order Longenhagen ranked them in his previously released Braves Top 10 Prospects, but where they rank against the rest of the league is news here.
Here are the prospects and where they ranked:
5.Ronald Acuna, OF
12.Ozzie Albies, 2B
21.Kyle Wright, RHP
42.Luiz Gohara, LHP
65.Kolby Allard, LHP
67.Kevin Maitan, 3B
69.Ian Anderson, RHP
72.Mike Soroka, RHP
74.Joey Wentz, LHP
100.Cristian Pache, OF
At the end of his list Longenhagen listed a total of 31 prospects as honorable mention, and he did not list any additional Braves.
While I don’t personally agree with some of these rankings- both the order where some guys are ranked against others within the organization and how they rank against the rest of baseball, I am happy to see Joey Wentz finally starting to receive the credit he deserves in the middle of a dominant year for Rome.
How do you guys feel? Discuss in the comments.
