The Atlanta Braves may not be done dealing quite yet. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the Braves and the Angels are discussing a possible trade for infielder Brandon Phillips.

According to The Athletics’s Ken Rosenthal, Phillips is deciding whether or not to accept the trade.

Phillips has a partial no-trade clause in his contract which allows him to veto a trade to 12 teams. His deal also contains a $500,000 bonus if traded.

The Angels are among the teams on Phillips’ no trade list so the ball is in his court according to USAToday’s Bob Nightengale. The deadline to complete a trade is midnight tonight.

The Angels entered today just 1.5 games out of the final wild card spot in the American League. They made a splash already today acquiring outfielder Justin Upton from the Detroit Tigers.

Phillips is in a current situation with the Braves where he could lose playing time to younger players like Johan Camargo and Rio Ruiz over the final month of the season. Camargo is working his way back from a knee injury but is due to rejoin the team next week.
