Marlins vs Braves final score: Lane Adams, Braves walk-off again

Braves score another walk-off win thanks to an 11th inning home run by Lane Adams

MLB: Arizona Diamondbacks at Atlanta Braves Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Braves rallied from three down in the ninth and Lane Adams hit a walk-off home run in the 11th for a 10-8 win.

The Braves entered the ninth trailing 8-5 against Marlins reliever Jarlin Garcia. Ozzie Albies flied out deep to left to open the inning but Freddie Freeman singled to get the rally started and Nick Markakis followed with a double to put runners at second and third with one out. Tyler Flowers followed grounded to third, but Freeman scored on the play to cut the deficit to two with two outs.

Lane Adams walked to bring the winning run to the plate in Johan Camargo. Don Mattingly went to his bullpen replacing Garcia with right hander Javy Guerra who promptly allowed an infield single to Camargo to load the bases. Rio Ruiz then came to the plate and hit a bullet past Brian Anderson at third that scored Markakis and Adams to tie the game at 8-8. Matt Kemp came on to pinch hit but flew out to right to send the game to extra innings.

After a scoreless 10th, the Marlins threatened in the 11th but Arodys Vizcaino struck out Anderson with the bases loaded to end the threat.

Flowers singled with one out in the 11th to set the stage for Adams who jumped on a fastball by Vance Worley and drove it into the left center bleachers to give the Braves their third walk-off win of the series.

Miami took an early 3-0 lead in the second against R.A. Dickey thanks to three walks and run scoring hits by Miguel Rojas and J.T. Realmuto.

Atlanta answered back in a big way in the third scoring five times on an RBI single by Albies and two-run hits by Flowers and Camargo.

The Marlins tied the game back up in the fifth with a run scoring single by Christian Yelich and a ground out by Tyler Moore.

Dickey exited after the fifth having allowed six hits and five runs. He struck out five and walked three. He’s now given up 11 earned runs in his last 9 1/3 innings.

The score would remain tied until the eighth when Dee Gordon hit a pinch hit home run off of Jose Ramirez to put the Marlins back in front 6-5.

Atlanta’s bullpen struggles continued in the ninth as Matt Wisler surrendered back-to-back doubles to Stanton and Yelich to make it 7-5. Yelich scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Justin Bour.

Flowers went 3-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs. Albies and Camargo finished with two hits each. Adams’ home run was his third of the season. Matt Adams left the game in the fifth for Atlanta due to tightness in his right hamstring after legging out a double.

Realmuto went 4-for-6 with two RBIs for the Marlins. Yelich had three hits while Stanton and Rojas finished with two hits each.

Atlanta takes three of four from Miami and improves to 10-5 against the Marlins this season. The Braves will enjoy an off day on Monday before opening a three-game set in Washington on Tuesday.
