The Phillies got off to a quick start in the top of the first when Nick Williams singled with two outs and then Rhys Hoskins slapped a line drive double to center. Williams never stopped running and scored easily on a lazy throw from center fielder Ender Inciarte.

The Braves had a chance to score early in the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tyler Flowers led off the inning with a sharp single to left and then Dansby Swanson went the other way to put runners on first and third for Rio Ruiz. Rio hit a slow roll to first baseman Rhys Hoskins who went home with the throw and Tyler Flowers was initially ruled safe at the plate. Upon review Flowers was called out and the Braves couldn’t scratch across a run.

The Phillies made Atlanta pay in the next half inning when Franco singled to lead off the fifth. J.P. Crawford walked and then Cameron Rupp hit a slow grounder to advance the runners. A defensive mistake by Tyler Flowers allowed Crawford to score to make it 2-0.

Ender Inciarte hit a ground rule double to lead off the bottom of the fifth after a fan interfered. Ender was then balked to third but the Braves failed to score with 0 outs in the inning.

The Braves pulled within one on a Rio Ruiz homer in the bottom of the sixth.

The Braves pitched a great game but did not put up a lot of offense against Henderson Alvarez who has historically looked awful against the Braves but tonight pitched like an ace.

Matt Adams started the Braves comeback in the bottom of the eighth with a single. Micah Johnson pinch ran for Adams and stole second base and came around to score on a Dansby Swanson single. Dansby advance to second on the throw and Rio Ruiz was intentionally walked. With Lane Adams up Luis Garcia threw a wild pitch to bring the runners to second and third. Johan Camargo came up and slammed a double to right to score Dansby and Rio giving the Braves a 4-2 lead.

The Braves went to Arodys Vizcaino in the ninth to get the save and went on to get the Phillies 1,2,3.

Ender Inciarte continues to inch closer to the 200 hit mark after another hit tonight and with 9 games to go after tonight Ender lacks just 6 hits to the mark.
